Funeral services for John David Robinson are 2:00 P.M., Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Hillside Christian Church with Ben Killion officiating. Interment will follow at Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Benjamin Funeral Service. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com. John David Robinson, 63, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014. He was born September 18, 1950 in Tulsa to Gwen (Binkley) and Bob Robinson of Nowata. John was raised in Nowata where he learned to play golf on Nowata's 9 hole golf course which still had sand greens, and spent time duck hunting the Verdigris River bottoms. He was active in the Order of DeMolay, and spent afternoons after school ‘throwing type' in his father's printing shop. John was a 1968 graduate of Nowata High School and continued his education at Oklahoma State University where he earned an MBA in finance. He began a lifelong banking career at Mcllroy Bank, Fayetteville, AR in 1978. He held positions during his banking career with Texas Com'l Bank, Woodland Bank, Guaranty Bank, Bank of the Lakes and Arvest Bank, as well as Metro Builders Supply. John retired in 2011. John enjoyed fishing, shooting, and golf, but had a passion for good music, rock and roll. He was a member of the Oklahoma Banker's Association, Sertoma, and former member of the Tulsa HBA. He was a very fair, honest, and caring person who will be missed by many. He is survived by both parents, Gwen and Bob Robinson of Lake Hudson; a brother, Terry Robinson of Sperry; an uncle, Tom Binkley of Owasso, very dear friend Paula Robinson, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins.
