Memorial services for Johnnie D. Dikeman are 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Hillside Christian Church with Van Longbons officiating. Inurnment of ashes will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Talala. Arrangements have been entrusted to Benjamin Funeral Service. John D. Dikeman passed away November 29, 2012 at the Nowata Nursing Center. He was born on April 17, 1932 in Talala to William Caleb and Nora Evelyn (Smart) Dikeman. John grew up in Talala, receiving his education there and graduating with the Class of 1950. He married Lila "Chuck" Manley on May 29, 1952 at Bartlesville, Oklahoma. John served in the U.S. Army and upon his honorable discharge, the Dikemans made their home in Indiana, where both sons were born. John moved his family to the Nowata area and worked as a heavy equipment operator for Peabody Coal Company for many years, before retiring. He had attended Living Word Church and was a member of the Nowata American Legion. John is survived by his wife Lila "Chuck' Dikeman; two sons, Rev. Johnnie D. Dikeman, JR. and wife Mary of Clarkston Washington, Kris Dikeman and wife Bridget of Norman; two sisters, Jane Egleston of Claremore, Pearl Youngman of Fullerton, California; five grandchildren, Rev. Marissa Dikeman - King and husband Bradley of Seattle, Washington, Rev. Tiffany Dikeman of Kirkland, Washington, Breanna Dikeman of Clarkston, Washington, Jordan Dikeman and wife Kristen of Norman, Tyler Dikeman and fiancée Bobby Kunkle of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. John was preceded in death by: his parents, William and Nora Dikeman; and by five siblings: Melvin Dikeman, Cale Dikeman, Mildred Ricotta, Flora Kauffman, Billie Lee Dikeman.
