Johnnie D. Norman, 81 year old Vinita resident, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013. Johnnie was born in Pitcher, OK. After graduating high school he went on to earn his Associates Degree from OSU. He also served in the United States Army from 1950-1953. He was employed with REC for 45 years and was the Sargent of Arms for the House of Representatives for 8 years. Johnnie was also very involved and community oriented. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, former Worshipful Master, member of the Akdar Shrine, the Eastern Star in which he served as the Grand Representative to the District of Colombia in the state of Oklahoma, 50 year member of the American Legion Dale Peace Post #40, the VFW, and was a Kentucky Colonel. Survivors include his wife Jeanie Norman of the home, children: Michael Norman and wife Ruthie of Atlanta, GA, Seth Ann Lawson and husband Bill of Ketchum, OK, Tiana Tucker and husband Eubert of Vinita, OK, and Chris Norman and wife Jenny of O'Fallon, MO, step children: Robert Dry of Langley, OK and Rebecca Cupp of Langley, OK, 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and one brother Jerry Norman of Corpus Christi, TX. He is preceded in death by Julia Norman Scott and one brother Toby Norman. Viewing will be Monday, May 20, 2013 from 6-7 p.m. at the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel with cremation to follow.
