Josephine Cheek, 85, a resident of Grove passed away at Integris Grove General Hospital on Tuesday March 23, 2010. Mrs. Cheek was born on August 15, 1924 in Kansas City, Missouri to Harvey Dewey Oller and Della Ann (Connett) Oller Brown. Josephine worked as a homemaker all her life. That was evident in all of the crafts that she created, from doilies, to crocheting and even crocheting with Wal-Mart sacks, carving wooden dolls, making puppets, stuffed animals, Barbie clothes and her children's clothes as they grew up. She also was an avid reader and a member of the Cornerstone Church. Mrs. Cheek was preceded in death by her parents Harvey Dewey Oller and Della Ann (Connett) Oller Brown, her husband Byron Lowell Cheek who passed in 1988 and one daughter Donna Rae Hardee. Survivors include her children Marijo Napier and her husband Mark of Grove, Richard Cheek and his wife Barbara of Claremore, a brother Donald Oller of Carthage, grandchildren, David Eric Hardee of Bentonville, Rikki Hardee of Webb City, Bryan Napier and his wife Amy of Grove, Sara Foster and her husband Matt of Joplin, Emily Napier of Grove and Toyna Scott and her husband Gregg also of Grove, Great-grandchildren Anabella Woodruff, Noah Hardee, Delani Hardee, Ritchard Hardee, Dacey Napier, Ashlyn Napier, Jacob Scott, Jadyn Scott and Joshua Scott. Memorial services for Mrs. Cheek will be on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Cornerstone Church in Grove with Pastors Bill and Janet Lay officiating. Services are under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.
