Joyce Morgan

January 9, 1964 — June 1, 2012

Joyce DeNeece Morgan was born on January 9, 1964 and danced her way into the arms of Jesus on June 1, 2012. Joyce was preceded in death by her Mom, Barbara Downes, and her best friend Jonita Haney. Joyce has left behind a very large group of family and friends whose lives will forever be changed by knowing this beautiful woman. Twenty-eight years ago Joyce Morgan moved to Vinita, Oklahoma to live at Fountain House Group Home. It was during this time that she truly began to blossom and come into her own as a person. Scripture tells us to "Love our neighbor as ourselves". Joyce was such a wonderful example of that scripture. She could find something good in almost everyone and she would share your good qualities with other people when she was asked, or just when she felt the need to. Joyce loved most people and she was loyal to those she loved. She never wanted to see any of us sad. When we remember Joyce she would want us to think of her passion for life. Among her passions were family and friends, music and dancing, coloring, and all things OSU. Joyce had a huge family, for someone with no real biological family. Her Mom was Barbara Downes. When she became Joyce's guardian, Joyce adopted the rest of her family. Joyce has two sisters, Debi Sufficool, the director of Fountain House and Donna Sufficool. She has one brother, Wes Sufficool and several nieces and nephews. After Barbara passed away in 2004, Rosetta Bowlin stepped in to become Joyce's guardian. Joyce immediately laid claim to one of the largest families in Craig County. She loved being part of such a large extended family and getting to visit with them in Rosetta and Aunt Nancy's home. The family holiday celebrations, birthday parties or just Sunday lunch were special times for her. This wonderful family accepted her as one of their own and she loved them all. She was proud to be a member of their family. Joyce also had special family ties at Fountain House. She had many strong and steady friendships with the people who are served by Fountain House and the people who work there. She leaves behind many good friends who will all have a void in their life at her passing. Special friends include Randy Carroll, her boyfriend, and his brother Bob. They spent weekend's together bowling, going to moves and dances or just having cookouts at one another's home. Joyce loved anything that could be called a party. Joyce worked at Delaware County Friendship Homes in Jay, Oklahoma. She loved her work and her friends there. She had many different jobs over the years. One of her most special jobs was at Hall Halsell School, where she volunteered in Patty Cusick's class room. She had many special friends who worked at the school and whenever she was shopping it wasn't unusual for a little one to come up and visit with her because they remembered her from school. She also loved going to Community Action in Jay where she cleaned the office. Joyce has had several steady staff, with few changes over the years. Once someone worked at her home, you became a part of her family. There are several who have moved on, but still maintained a relationship with Joyce. Those who are left behind with her passing are Buffy Reliford, Ashley Struble, Patty Cusick, Mia Wooten and Robyn Sunday. She had pulled all of their families into her web of love, family and friendship. On June 1, 2012 Joyce joined Heaven's Praise Choir. There is probably just a little more dancing and a little more enthusiasm now that she's there. No doubt, there is a huge smile on God's face as he watches her. She has old friends and family to visit with and has probably already become acquainted with so many other citizens of Heaven. Opportunities for a great party abound all the time. Celebration of life services will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel with Rev. Farris Downing officiating. Services are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home.
