Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay, Oklahoma 918-253-3222. Judy Elizabeth Dempster, 91 year old resident of Eucha, Oklahoma, passed away on April 29, 2018 at the Grand Lake Villa in Grove, Oklahoma. Judy was born on February 27, 1927 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Lowell and Tillie (Acree) Yocham. She attended school in Mounds, Sapulpa and Kellyville. Judy was forced to drop out of school and help her family work the family cotton farm. Shortly after World War II, Judy was working at the Kress store in downtown Tulsa and that is where she met her loving husband Jim Dempter. Their first date was to go dancing at the Cain's Ballroom where Johnnie Lee Willis was playing. Judy and Jim were united in marriage in Tulsa on June 15, 1946. She and Jim lived in Lebanon, Missouri and Des Moines, Iowa and then moved to the Grand Lake area in 1982. Judy worked for Wal-Mart, drove a tractor, milked cows, baled hay and also worked at the glass factory. Judy was a Christian and a member of the Dogwood Chapel. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, one son Michael Dempster, one daughter Patsy Kay Boyd, a brother Troy Yocham, and four sisters Maxine Yocham, Thelma Thomas, Velma Dawson and Nellie Jane Yocham. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Jim Dempster of the home, her son Billy Don Dempster and wife Sherri of Eucha, Oklahoma, two brothers; Earl Yocham and wife LaVerne of Jay, Oklahoma and David Yocham and wife Pam of Mounds, Oklahoma, three sisters; Lorene Bitsko and Pauline Hunkler and husband Yvon both of Sapulpa, Oklahoma and Catherine Brand and husband Bill of Pryor, Oklahoma. Judy was blessed with two grandchildren; Jeffrey Dempster and wife Alecia of Sand Springs, Oklahoma and Cynthia Steel and husband Dan of Skiatook, Oklahoma three great grandchildren; Jacob Steel and wife Dana of Bolder, Colorado, Lucas Steel of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and J.D. Dempster and Colleen of Joplin, Missouri, and two great great grandsons; Maverick Steel and Tristan Dempster. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 pm, Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Jay, Oklahoma. Services are scheduled for 10 am, Thursday, May 3, 2018 at the Dogwood Chapel with Brother Lennie Martin and Brother Tommy Toliver officiating.
