He was the third of seven siblings, and the son of Henry and Myra Schneider. The family farm always provided the basic needs of the Schneiders, but Julius was determined to seek another profession through higher education. It was during these teen years that he and his parents devoted themselves to Christianity, leaving a Christian legacy and heritage that has now extended to his great grandchildren. After graduating from Mankato High School, Mankato, Kansas, he worked multiple jobs that allowed him to enroll at Bethany Peniel College in Bethany, Oklahoma and the University of Oklahoma's School of Engineering where he earned his degree in 1942. Julius married Audrey Marie Davidson August 31, 1941, then shortly afterwards moved to Borger, Texas to begin his career with Phillips Petroleum Co. The couple was blessed with three children, Julius Edward Jr, (Ed), James (Jim) and Margie. In 1950, the family was transferred to Bartlesville, where Julius worked until his retirement in 1976. Julius served on the Board of the First Church of the Nazarene for many years. In addition to his work designing and building refineries for Phillips, many happy hours were spent tending his cattle and farm west of Bartlesville. One of his proudest accomplishments was the establishment and maintenance of the Strike Axe Rural Water District which served his local area. After 56 years of loving companionship, Audrey passed away on November 13, 1997. Survivors are their children Ed and spouse Elaine of Portal, Georgia, their children Katie (Pete) Hunt, children Paige, Jackson, Austin and Nickie (Joel) White and children Lexi, Lorelei, Luke and Logan; Jim and spouse Phyllis of Tyler, Texas and their child Kenneth (RoseAnn), and their children James, Brittany and Tiffany ; Margie Mannies, ( Gary ) of Gilbert, Arizona and their children, Marlo Howell (Mike), their children Garret and Greyson; and Marin Mannies and Whitney Mannies (Joe Kirkland); one sister, Marie O'Brien of Goddard, Kansas.
