Junior Daugherty

Junior Walter "Chuck" Daugherty, 71 year-old Chelsea resident, died early Friday June 22, 2007 at the Grand Lake Villa Nursing Center in Grove. He was born July 11, 1935 in Vinita to Joshua and Amy Cornell Daugherty. Chuck married Jo Ann Byrd on January 20, 1961 in Oklahoma City. He worked as a barber for many years in Colorado and in Claremore at Bill's Barber Shop, he retired in 1998. Chuck's favorite pastimes were to hunt and fish. The family includes: his wife Jo Ann of the home, three step-children, Cathy Ferguson of Oklahoma City, Teresa DeVries of Highland, Indiana, Cynthia Warner of Arvada, Colorado, six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, one nephew, Hootie Daugherty of Afton, two nieces, Amy James of Cushing, and Rosa Wyrick of Vinita. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother William E. Daugherty. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday June 24, 2007 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. The funeral will be held Monday June 25, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. George Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow at the Landrum Cemetery south of Vinita.
