ARNOLD MOORE & NEEKAMP FUNERAL HOME, BARTLESVILLE, OK - Justin Wayne Easter, age 32, passed on to Heaven on November 10, 2015 at his home in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Justin graduated from Bartlesville High School in 2002: then he attended Oklahoma State University where he majored in Nutrition and Sports Medicine. His boxing career started at the age of 12 when he started training under Earl Gilkey and then moved on to his next trainer and best friend, Bill Wagner, of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Justin held the USA Boxing and Golden Glove titles for over three years. He obtained his USA boxing license on July 5, 2000 at the age of 17. In March 2001, he represented Heartland Region at Olympic Trials in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He accomplished many boxing goals. His love for boxing was known by everyone that knew him. Justin is survived by his parents, Larry Dean and Brenda (Martinez) Easter; one sister, Michelle Mershon and her husband, Joshua Mershon, of Tulsa; one brother, Larry Daniel Easter of Bartlesville; and his companion, Jackie Polk; one niece, Cayden Mershon; eight nephews, Mason, Jacob and Zachary Mershon of Tulsa, Skyler Easter, Tryston Easter, Jace Robertson, Liam and Leon Polk; Uncle Robert ("Jr.") Martinez: Aunt Sandy Martinez; cousins, Michael (Laurie), Victor (Amber), Bobby (Brittany), Chris and Teri Martinez; and many cousins; aunts; and uncles; and friends from Oklahoma and Texas. Justin's faith in God and love for all his family was shown in his smile. He was preceded in death by his loving grandmother, Bonnie Martinez-Perez, who he cherished and loved every day: his cousin that he recognized as his sister, Nicole "Nickel" Landrigan: other grandparents, Robert Martinez, Sr.; and Floyd and Florence Easter. Open visitation will be on Friday from 9:00 AM-8:00 PM with family present from 6-8:00 PM in the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home. A special service will be held on Saturday, at 2:00 PM in the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home Chapel, 710 S. Dewey Ave. Rev. Robert Grayson will officiate. An Indian Wake will be held at the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home on Sunday starting at 7:00 PM. A traditional Native American service will be held on Monday at 2:00 PM at the Ribbon Indian Church in Spavinaw, Oklahoma. Rev. Loyd Boney will officiate. Interment will follow that service in the Ribbon Indian Cemetery in Spavinaw.
