Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Grove, OK (918) 786-2261 --- Katie Josephine Thomson, age 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 27, 2015 at her home in Grove, Oklahoma. Katie was born on April 7, 1930 in Brush, Colorado. She was the daughter of the late Fred William Peters and Elizabeth Lucretia (Gerold) Peters. She was united in marriage to Robert Lee (R.L.) Thomson in March 9th 1946 in Yuma Arizona. Robert and Katie owned and operated Thomson Saw & Mower from 1978-1990. Katie was a devoted wife and mother. Katie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son Paul Thomson, one brother Fred Peters and one sister Minnie Wade. She is survived by her children Edwin Lee Thomson and wife Kathy of Shawnee, Kansas; Robert Eugene Thomson and wife Karlene of Shawnee, Kansas; Carolyn Sue Summerville and husband Chris of Steinbeck, Manitoba, Canada; Peggy Jo Waxle and husband Wyatt of Winchester, Kentucky and Bonnie Lucretia Thomson of Grove, Oklahoma. Katie was blessed with 10 grandchildren. Katie is also survived by her sister Hurmley Elson of Great Bend, Kansas and sister Geraldine Joy Kirby of McCune, Kansas. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Friday, May 1, 2015 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Cornerstone Church with Pastor Paul Taylor and Pastor Jon Burnaman presiding. Katie will be laid to rest in Buzzard Cemetery. Memorial donation can be made in Katie's name to either the Cornerstone Church or Good Shepherd Hospice.
