Karen Schafer

Karen Maureen Schaefer, age 59, a resident of Langley, OK died Saturday April 17, 2010 at her home in Langley. She was born April 4, 1951 in Lincoln, Nebraska the daughter of Albert and Joan Bouton Schaefer. Karen was a member of the Seventy Day Adventist Church and was a dietician working at Adventist hospitals in Phoenix, AZ and Shawnee Mission, Kansas. After taking retirement she moved to Langley and taught math and science at the Seventh Day Adventist school. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, lap stitch, photography, working with stain glass, and teaching children. Karen led and directed the children's Choir and led them at their Christmas Program. Karen leaves behind her parents, one sister Kathy and her husband Barney Lorenz of Okeene, OK, one niece, April Lorenz, two aunts, Phyllis Dittmer and Reda and her husband Wilber Boberg and many cousins. A memorial service will be Wednesday April 21, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. at the Ketchum Seventy Day Adventist Church with Pastor Perry Flerchinger and John Mohor officiating. Arrangements are by Luginbuel South Grand Lake Funeral Home. Memorials in Karen's name may be made to the Ketchum Seventh day Adventist Church. Online condolences may be left at honoringmemories.com
