Ladema Schoech, 89 year old Vinita resident, died peacefully at her home on Sunday morning, April 1, 2007. She was born on May 26, 1917 in Rogers County to Arthur Eugene and Anna May Martin Devore and moved to Vinita in 1919. She married Norbert Schoech on Dec. 31, 1937 in Vinita and was a devoted wife for 27 years. He preceded her in death on November 12, 1963. Ladema was a dedicated mother and homemaker. When her children completed the Vinita Schools, she worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses and enjoyed spending time with her grandsons. She was Secretary/Treasurer for the North Vinita Water Cooperative for 34 years. Ladema was a talented seamstress and enjoyed quilting and needlepoint. She treasured her family and was deeply loyal to them throughout her life. Ladema was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers; Glen Devore and Charles Devore, three sisters; Juanita Devore, Lois Sippy and Vermell Williams. She was a loving and much loved mother and grandmother to her survivors; Daughter-Carolyn and Walter Simmons, Son- Norbert E. "Buddy" and Patti Schoech, Two grandsons; Norbert C. "Beau" Schoech and Bradley P. Schoech, Great granddaughter-Claira Isabell all of Vinita. Sister-Vera Tresler of Vinita Brothers; Hugh Devore of Cushing and Carrol Mabery of Katy, TX Six Nieces and Six Nephews Friends may come by Luginbuel Funeral Home for viewing on Monday from 6:00-9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Contributions may be made to St. Francis Hospice, 104 S. 3rd St, Vinita, OK 74301 Private family graveside services will be held Wednesday at Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Henry "Skip" McClain officiating. Services are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita.
