Larry Sherman Brown, 49 year old Big Cabin resident, died Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at the Integris Grove Hospital. He was born May 7, 1961 in Pryor to Lonnie Sherman and Bobbie Loydene (Ivey) Brown. Larry worked for the City of Big Cabin in maintenance. He was a volunteer fireman for nearly 20 years, with the Big Cabin Fire Department. He was an avid outdoorsman; hunting, fishing and gardening were his passions. Larry was also an arrowhead hunter and collector, storm chaser and Cabin Creek Battle history buff. He also mowed yards, cut wood and trained bird dogs with Ronnie Smith. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Sister Barbara Brown, and great niece, Suzie Shrum. The family includes: his mother, Bobbie Loydene Brown of Big Cabin, sisters, Micki Helphingstine and husband Teddie of Sedan, Kansas, Joyce Tune of Big Cabin; nieces, Alycia Bass and husband Dink, Londa Brickman and husband Brock, Judy Shrum and husband Jason and Mandy Tune; great nieces and nephews, Denton Effinger, Allee Dunn, Grace Shrum, Meade Brickman, Maddee Brickman; step nephews, Jess, Shane and Jake Helphingstine. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Thursday at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. The funeral service will be held Friday, December 17, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Luginbuel Chapel in Vinita with Rev. Larry Jackson officiating.
