Larry Dewey Bryant 61 year-old Fairland resident, died Monday, April 14, 2008 in Fairland. He was born August 10, 1946 in Vinita, to Paul and Olive Ruth (Hunt) Bryant. Larry was a graduate of Afton High School and worked as a self employed carpenter. He was a professional Bass Fisherman and a Volunteer Fireman for the Bernice Fire Department. Larry enjoyed Karaoke and tinkering with wood, building furniture and cabinets in his shop. The family includes his children, Bryan Bryant and wife Lea Ann of Afton, Brad Bryant and wife LaVonna of Grove, his mother Ruth Sheldon of Fairland, his father Paul Bryant and wife Mary of Afton; two sisters, Madeline Kropff and husband Jerry of Monkey Island, Paula Garrett and husband John of Broken Arrow, four grandchildren, Wacey Kiley Bryant, Tyler Dewey Bryant, both of Afton, Shawn Frost of Claremore and Ashley Payne of Verdigris and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Cecil Bryant and his step-father, Jim Sheldon. The family will receive friends at the Luginbuel Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral will be held Thursday, 11:00 a.m. at the First Assembly of God Church in Fairland, with Pastor Jackie Crafton, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Afton. Casket bearers will be; Jack Hayes, Bert Quimby, Gerald Henson, Steve Williams, Brad Hallman, Darrell Clocker.
