Larry Godbey

Larry Lee Godbey, age 72, a resident of Big Cabin, OK died Tuesday June 29, 2010 at his home. He was born October 20, 1937 in Indianapolis, IN the son of Morris E Godbey and Theda Wise Godbey. Larry was raised and educated in Fortville, IN where he graduated high school. While in Fortville he worked as at the fire department, and was a policeman and deputy Sheriff. On July 27, 1970 Larry and Sue Jane Harrison were united in Marriage in Miami, OK and made their home at Big Cabin. Larry was a truck driver for Franks & Son. For the last twenty years he was an owner operator leased to Frank & Son. He came off the road in the eighties and took a job at Big Cabin Truck Plaza where he worked until 2000 and has been employed by Cabin Diesel Services until present. He enjoyed leather craft, and was a NASCAR enthusiast. Larry leaves behind his children: Ed and Teresa Sullivan of Big Cabin, OK, Debbie and Vernon Barnes of Adair, OK, Rodney and Andrea Sullivan of Adair, OK, Charlanne Sullivan of Big Cabin, and Russell and Sandy Sullivan of Chouteau, OK, one brother, Jim Godbey of North Carolina and brother in law Roy and Barbara Harrison, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Sue in October of 2004. Funeral services will be Saturday July 3, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home with Pastor Max Adams officiating with interment to follow in the Big Cabin Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday July 2, 2010 at the Funeral Home from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com.
