Larry Neal Toomey, age 64, died on Friday June 17, 2011 at his residence in Bernice, Oklahoma. Larry was the son of Harry and Maxine (Lukins) Toomey. He was born on April 28, 1947 in Chanute, Kansas. Larry proudly served in the United States Army from '65 until '71. He earned his Bachelors degree from NEOSHO Community College in Chanute, Kansas. Larry was a member of IBEW Local 95 in Joplin, the F.L.E. and was the state commander in 2010 of B.E.E, as well as a member of the VFW in Bernice. Larry enjoyed fishing, was a gun collector, tinkering with small engines, and was an avid NASCAR fan. Larry was a self employed electrician. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife Linda Toomey. Larry is survived by his three children; Toney Toomey and his wife Kim, Garry Toomey and Kathie Heckman, and eight grandchildren. Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at Rolston Cemetery with Reverend Steve Decker officiating. Casket bearers will be Bill Swift, Chuck Borton, David Byrley, Cody Hale, Leo Bloom and Patrick Behler.
