Funeral services for Laverne Radcliff are 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 13, 2013 at the Benjamin Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Cheryl Newton officiating. Interment will follow at Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery. Laverne Elaine Radcliff, 95, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2013 at her home in Bartlesville. She was born June 25, 1918 in Bryant, Oklahoma to George B. and Sarah Catherine (Burnett) Davis. She graduated the Valedictorian of Morris High School Class of 1936. On August 25, 1938 Laverne married the love of her life W.W. "Spike" Radcliff in Morris. In 1940 they moved to Nowata where they made their home the remainder of their lives. During World War II she worked for McDonnell Douglas as a government inspector checking inventory. They were very active in the community and in 1953 Laverne became a member of the First United Methodist Church in Nowata where she was active with the United Methodist Women's Association, and held many offices and participated in many church functions. Laverne worked as a voting inspector for the Nowata County Election Board from 1960 to 1996. From 1970 to 1988 she was the Administrative Assistant at the Hays House in Nowata. She was active in the American Legion Women's Auxiliary and was also a member of the Daughters of The American Revolution. With all the things Laverne did the most important was her family. She loved to care for her husband, children, and grandchildren. They were the most important part of her life. Laverne will be missed by all who knew her. Laverne is survived by two children, Greg Radcliff and his wife Michelle of Nowata, Kathy Perry and her husband Jeff of Tahlequah; four grandchildren, Chris Miller and his wife Heather, Melissa Miller, Zach Radcliff and his wife Ashley, Aeriole Jones and her husband Ben; one great grandson, Hudson Spike Jones. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Sarah Davis; her husband W.W. "Spike" Radcliff; six siblings, Ernest Davis, Rosa Sipes, Ollie Cantrell, Pearl Pickett, Lily Woodward, Stella Greenlee. Memorials in Laverne's name may be sent to the 1033 Wheelchair Van, Nowata Beautification Committee, Spikes Railroad Park, or the American Alzheimer's Association.
