Lawrence Brown

Lawrence William "Larry" Brown, 66, of Claremore, OK and former Bartlesville resident, died Friday at Jack C. Montgomery VA Medical Center in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m., Monday, Nov. 3 at Bartlesville Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home. Military rites will be accorded Mr. Brown by the Honor Detail of James H. Teel, Post #105, American Legion. Those who wish may donate to the American Cancer Society. Larry was born September 11, 1948 at Oklahoma City, OK to George W. Brown and Dorothy L. (Reinert) Brown. He was raised in Bartlesville and attended College High. Larry joined the US Navy, right out of high school and after 6 years was Honorably Discharged. He returned to Bartlesville and did carpentry work until his health forced an early retirement in 1994. Since that time, Larry has made his home at the Claremore Veterans Center. He was a world traveler and a free spirit who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include his mother, Dorothy L. Brown of Bartlesville; three children, Lisa, David and Jericho; one sister, Linda Pierce and her husband, Danny of Bartlesville; two nephews, Josh Pierce of Mannford, Oklahoma and Zach Pierce of Bartlesville; 8 great-nieces and great-nephews, Camdin, Larrisa, Aubrey, Grant, Sophia, Gabriella, Kole and Crosston. Larry was preceded in death by his father, George W. Brown, February 25, 1979.
