Lawrence A. "Larry" Toews, 69 year-old resident died, Monday April 9, 2007 at the Craig General Hospital in Vinita. He was born April 26, 1937 in St. Helena, California to Alwin S. and Phosa Mae (Butterfield) Toews. Lawrence married Mary Inman on July 3, 1958 in San Bernardino, California. They moved to Langley area in 1974 from LaSierra, California. He worked as a property manager. Lawrence enjoyed working in the yard, landscaping, starting plants and giving them away to friends, he also enjoyed western movies with John Wayne or Clint Eastwood and train shows. Lawrence was a member of the First Christian Church of Langley and of the Pryor Masonic Lodge. The family includes; his wife Mary of the home, three children, Beverly E. Clem of Ketchum, Karen I. Oxentenko and husband Randy of Broken Arrow, Kevin B. Toews and wife Dolly of Alice, Texas; two brothers, Chuck Toews and wife Wanda of Ketchum, Edwin Toews and wife Melvina of New York Mill, Minnesota, one sister Helen Jaster and husband Wesley of Waynesborough, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren Christopher and Joshua Clem, Kelly Toews, Katrina, Kera and Nathanael Oxentenko; also numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. The funeral service will be held Friday, April 13, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church of Langley, with Pastor Joel Rutherford officiating. Internment will follow at the Ketchum Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and 9a.m. until 12 noon Friday at the Luginbuel South Grand Lake Chapel. Friends may give to the Akdar Shrine Center 2808 S.
