Big Cabin, OK - Leeta Brooks Hanan, 100, died early Wednesday morning at Rosewood Terrace, Vinita, Oklahoma. Leeta was born in Big Cabin, Indian Territory, November 7, 1906 to Henry Trout and Stella (Lauchner) Trout. Leeta grew up in Big Cabin and married Gerald Hanan on New Year's Eve, 1927 at Vinita. Stella would later marry Joe Cochrane She was a housewife who helped her husband farm by working the fields with him. Leeta was a member of Big Cabin First Christian Church for more than 80 years; a member of the Big Cabin Country Club and was a wonderful cook. Survivors are one daughter, Peggy Kilpatrick of Big Cabin, Oklahoma; a brother, Reuel Cochrane of Big Cabin; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. Leeta was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Gerald Hanan on April 3, 1971; two children, Jerre Price and Conrad Hanan; by a brother, Argil "Sonny" Trout; by two sisters, Lucille Sims and Jane Sharp and by one great-grandson, Chell Kilpatrick.
