Lei Yang, 30, died November 4, 2012 in Vera, Oklahoma, from a car accident. A memorial service will be held at the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home Chapel, 710 S. Dewey, Bartlesville on Friday, November 16th, at 10:00 am. Lei was born on March 5, 1982 in Lixian of China to Mr. Daosheng Yang and Mrs. Zonghui Hu. He attended the elementary, middle and high school in Changde, graduated from the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, received his Master's Degree from Tsinghua University, and earned his Ph.D. from the Georgia Institute of Technology majoring in Materials Science and Engineering,. After graduation, Lei joined the Alternative Energy Group at Phillips 66 as an Associate Engineer and moved to Owasso, Oklahoma in June 2011. Lei was an outstanding researcher. He made significant contributions to the materials science community, had published 24 journal articles, and filed four US patent applications. He enjoyed traveling, cooking, and playing ping pong and tennis. Lei married Shuang Xue on November 11, 2004 and they were blessed with a son, Vincent, on October 31, 2011. He loved his wife and son very much. Lei is survived by his wife, Shuang; son, Vincent; parents, Mr. Daosheng Yang and Mrs. Zonghui Hu; and grandmother, Mrs. Xuezhen Li.
