Lela Mae Melson

Lela Mae Melson, 75, of Tulsa, OK, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on the evening of November 23, 2024, at The Journey Home in Bartlesville, OK.

On August 30, 1949, Lela was born in Forest Grove, Oregon, to parents: William Henry Six and Katherine Marie (Harrison) Six. Lela had a large family growing up and had twelve siblings. 

She married Doyle Dane Melson on January 14, 1982, and they made their home in Tulsa, OK.

In her free time, Lela enjoyed sewing, being outside, and working in the garden. She loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Lela is preceded in death by her parents: William Henry Six and Katherine Marie (Harrison) Six; her husband: Doyle Dane Melson; and her son: Jeffery Daniel Rouse.

Those left to cherish the memory of Lela are her grandchildren: Blake Rouse and wife, Johnna of Sedan, KS, Haley Rouse of Sedan, KS; Tyler Stephens of Claremore, OK, Makayla Stephens of Sedan, KS, and Brynlie Butler of Claremore, OK; her great-grandchildren: Nova Rouse of Sedan, KS, Asher Rouse of Sedan, KS, Zya Rouse of Sedan, KS, and Paisley Mosby of Sedan, KS; her daughter-in-law: Misty Stephens of Sedan, KS; and her dog daughter: Lucy Melson, along with other family members and friends.
