Lela Sales

September 17, 1926 — September 10, 2010

Life is but a journey, and Lela Mae Sales has completed hers on September 10, 2010. The Lord called Lela Mae home-when the roll was called up yonder, Lela's name was on it. Born Lela Mae Brown on September 17, 1926 to Alonzo and Rebecca (Nichols) Brown. She was an only child and she accepted Christ at an early age. She attended Little Flock Baptist Church, was baptized, and attended school in Oklahoma. She retired as an LPN, after serving those who needed her care. She married Walter Raymond Sales, who preceded her in passing, and to this union 5 children were born. Sharon Sanders of Arizona, Walter Sales Jr. of Oklahoma, Alonzo Sales of Oklahoma, James Sales of California , and Bekki Jeter of Kansas. Lela was a loving Mother, a devoted wife, and a caring Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Great-Great Grandmother. She touched many lives, was a dedicated member of the church, and involved in Senior Citizen activities. She is survived by all 5 of her children, a host of friends. She will be dearly missed and remembered by all those who knew, and especially who loved her. "To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord." No more pain, no more tears. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept 14th at the Little Flock Baptist Church at 10:00 A.M. The church is 3 miles north of Lenapah on 169, east ½ mile and south � mile. Burial will be in Hickory Creek Cemetery which is across the road from the church. Benjamin Funeral Service has been entrusted to conduct the services.
