Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita, 918-256-5555 Leona Jerelene James, 75 year old Fairland resident, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 3, 2017. Leona was born on October 11, 1941 to Ausbin and Ruth (Cook) Green. On September 4, 1958 she was united in marriage to Jesse James and together they raised two daughters. Throughout her life she was a hard worker, working in a variety of fields. She worked as a babysitter, licensed beautician, an electronic quality control inspector at Seismograph, and a motel desk clerk at Econo Lodge and Hampton Inn. Leona enjoyed crocheting, gardening flowers and vegetables, fishing for catfish and crappie, and was famous for her hot rolls. Survivors include her husband Jesse of the home, daughters: Audrey Williams and husband Brian of Broken Arrow and Paula Thompson and husband Jerry of Sand Springs, grandchildren: Jessica Balikow and husband Joe, Gary Wayne Thompson of Sand Springs, Derek Williams of Broken Arrow, and Chase Williams and wife Taylor of Broken Arrow, great grandchildren Carson and Kayden Williams, brother-in-law Melvin Ashford of Broken Arrow, and sister-in-law Fern Green of Vinita. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings: LaVona Ashford, Laverne "Poody" Green and his wife Patty, Janice Elrod and her husband Donnie, and Eugene Green. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, March 5, 2017 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 2 p.m., Monday, March 6, 2017 at the Fairland Cemetery with Chaplain Larry Moore officiating. Services are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home.
