Leona Parsons

Leona (Wagoner) Parsons, 88, of Nowata, OK passed away July 11, 2011. Leona was born on October 14, 1922 to Sara Wagoner. Mrs. Parsons was a graduate of Chelsea High School. She did very well in school and was the Valedictorian of her graduating class. Leona married William Parsons on April 16, 1946 in Independence, Kansas and was married to him until he passed away in December 1977. She made her living by being a waitress and she worked in many restaurants. She loved playing games including Bingo and dominoes. She was a member of the First Church of God and also the WCG ladies group. Leona also loved little dogs. Leona is survived by many relatives. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Parsons, and a son, Gary Michael Parsons. Graveside services for Leona will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 14, 2011 with Pastor Wendell Abbott officiating. Services are under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Service.
