Leroy Solomon

July 21, 1937 — August 22, 2011

Leroy Harrison Solomon was born on July 21, 1937 in Bartlesville. He was the son of Roy Solomon and Myrtle (Brantley) Solomon. He was raised in the Bartlesville area where he also received his education. He was a member of the College High School Sr. Class of 1955. Leroy enlisted in the U.S. Army on February 28, 1961 where he served his Country for a period of four years. He received his Honorable Discharge in January of 1966. After the service, he moved to Renton, Washington where he worked for Boeing Aircraft Company in the aircraft maintenance area. He was very proud of the fact that he put the first bubble on the AWACS. He retired from Boeing after 30 years of service. He returned to the Bartlesville area where he worked for the London House Apartments and the Dewey Public School System In August of 1997, Leroy and Caroline (Bronson) Thompson were united in marriage in Bentonville, Arkansas. They have made their home in Copan since that time. Leroy enjoyed his farm animals and taking care of the farm. Survivors include his wife, Caroline Solomon of the family home; daughter, Tanya (Solomon) Desjardins and her husband, Dan, of Seattle, Washington; son, Sean Thompson of Tulsa; several grandchildren; two sisters, Millie Solomon, of Bartlesville, and Lavone Lumpkin and her husband, Floyd, of Holdenville, Oklahoma; brother, Lawrence Solomon of Choctaw, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Scooter. He was preceded in death by his parents.
