Leslie Porter Elms, 68 years old of Norfork, Arkansas (formerly of Ketchum, Oklahoma) passed away unexpectedly on June 19, 2010, in Cooper Landing, Alaska. He retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1991. Porter had spent the last 12 years with his soul mate, Danette Stewart-Elms. They traveled extensively together, most often sharing their adventures with friends and family members. However, he was most happy on the Kenai River in Alaska, on Grand Lake in Oklahoma, or at his and Danette's home on the Norfork River in Norfork, Arkansas. Porter loved his country and was veteran of the United States Air Force He is survived by his loving wife, Danette Stewart-Elms of the home, his daughter Leslie Elms of Ketchum, Oklahoma, his granddaughter Caitlynn White of Ketchum, his mother, Mary Elms of Vinita, Oklahoma, a brother, Chris (Jo) Elms of Oak Grove, Louisiana, sisters, Jeni (John) Young of Ketchum, Oklahoma, Teddy Sue (Billy) Fritchie of Alma, Arkansas, and his nieces, nephews, and many friends. The memorial service will be held Monday, June 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cleora Methodist Church in Cleora, Oklahoma with Pastor Bill Busch officiating.
