Leslie Lee Williams, Grove resident, died Saturday afternoon November 28, 2009 at the age of 80 years. He was born June 18, 1929 in McCune, KS to Olive (Parsons) and Elmer Williams. Les attended McCune schools and graduated from McCune High School. While in school, Les excelled at football, track, and his favorite, basketball. Les married the love of his life, Delores Lanfear, and they celebrated sixty years of marriage until his death. He worked for the fertilizer manufacturing industry starting with Spencer Chemical for forty years, until his retirement in 1987. During his employment, Les and Delores lived overseas in South Korea for approximately 3 years and another 3 years in Kuwait. They lived in Gonzales, LA at the time of his retirement. Les enjoyed many hobbies which included traveling with Delores, hunting, fishing, watching sports especially the NBA, the NFL and NCAA sports. Les enjoyed spending time with his family. He was also an avid KU fan. Les is preceded in death by his parents. He leaves many loving memories with his family, wife, Delores, of the home; sons, Monty and wife Vickie of Cheney, KS, Mark and wife Beverly, of Huntsville, AL, and Scott and wife Karin, of Houston, TX; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Coleen Parker, of LA. Viewing will be 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM Tuesday at Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home. Services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday at the Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be 2:00 PM at McCune Cemetery in McCune, KS. Services were entrusted to Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove.
