Lessie Cearley

Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK 918-786-2261. Lessie Marie (Cruse) Cearley, 89 year old Grove, OK, resident passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2015. Lessie was born on March 2, 1926, in Norman, OK, to Noal T and Katherine (Armbrust) Cruse. Lessie married Charles Raymond Cearley on October 14, 1945. She was a devoted pastor's wife and homemaker. She also worked for McDonnell Douglas in Tulsa and for Sears. Lessie and Charles served several churches, including Oak Ridge Baptist in Tulsa, OK, 1st Baptist in Mountain Home, Idaho, 1st Baptist in Oxnard, CA, and 1st Baptist in Commerce, OK, before retiring and moving to Grove, OK. Lessie's parents homesteaded land in the Oklahoma Land Run. Lessie enjoyed traveling, especially to the Middle East. She is preceded in death by her parents, Noal and Katherine Cruse, her husband, Rev. Charles Raymond Cearley, and five siblings. Lessie is survived by one son, Raymond Cearley and wife Valerie of Danielsville, GA; one daughter, Sonja Cearley of Grove, OK; her twin brother, Lester Cruse of Vian, OK; four grandchildren: Timothy Cearley and wife Alison of Bogart, GA; Rachel Swanson and husband Ben of Gainesville, GA; Elizabeth McShane and husband Patrick of Boston, MA; and Anna Richt and husband Jon of Buffalo, NY; and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 25, 2015, at 2:00 pm at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Grove, OK. Rev. Geoff Buffalo to officiate. Interment to follow at Big Cabin Cemetery in Big Cabin, OK. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September, 24, 2015, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Grove, OK.
