Funeral services for Lida June Clapp are 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 8, 2012 at the First Church of God with Pastor Wendell Abbott officiating. Interment will follow at Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery. A family visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, October 7, 2012 at Benjamin Funeral Service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Benjamin Funeral Service. Lida June Clapp, 94, of Nowata passed away October 4, 2012 at the Jane Phillips Medical Center. She was born on June 27, 1918 in Nowata to Charles Jack and Josephine (Turner) Holinsworth. She attended several schools as her family moved around. On December 23, 1939 she married Milford Clapp in Stillwater, Oklahoma. June was a Charter member of the Nowata First Church of God. She enjoyed working puzzles, crocheting, and painting. June especially enjoyed the outdoors, camping, and fishing. She loved gardening and canning the veggies and food from the garden. Her family was most dear to her heart and she loved cooking for and caring for her husband, children, and grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her. June is survived by three children, Linda Diane Clapp Hudson and Jim Laster of Nowata, Eldon Lee Clapp and wife Carol of Nowata, Gary Ray Clapp and wife Peggy of Nowata; five siblings, Gladys Lucille Marrs of Nowata, Bob Holinsworth and wife Dorothy of Nowata, Don Holinsworth of Sun City, California, Deanie Little and husband Sidney of Delaware, Kieffer Holinsworth and wife Becky of Nowata; seven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. June is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Josie Holinsworth; her husband, Milford Clapp; three children, Donna Jean Clapp, Sandra Kay Clapp, David Eugene Clapp; eight siblings, Lorene Coatney, Claude Jack Holinsworth, Clarence Holinsworth, Charles Holinsworth, Murel Holinsworth, Kenneth Holinsworth, Anna Laura Awmiller, and Fred Holinsworth.
