Lloyd Garrett

Lloyd Dean Garrett, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2012. Dean was born in Bluejacket on September 9, 1933 to Charles "Speedy" Garrett and Verna (Ayers) Garrett. On June 14, 1953 he was united in marriage to Frances Weaver and together they raised two sons. Dean was a hard worker. He ran restaurants, motels, raised race horses, and was cattle rancher. He enjoyed traveling and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife Frances of the home, sons: Jerry Garrett and wife Twila of Bluejacket, and Terry Garrett and wife Glenda of Vinita, siblings: Juanita Crafton of Bluejacket, Emmaline Tullis and husband Joe of Welch, and Dewayne Garrett and wife Ruthie of Arizona, Lerry Garrett and Cathy of Broken Arrow, grandchildren: Bo Garrett and wife Lori, Cheyenne Jinks and husband Jay Don, Rachel Hensley and husband Weylan, Kyle Carzoli, Pat Garrett, Daniel Garrett, and Shelby Garrett, great grandchildren Alicia Garrett, Hunter Garrett, Taylor Garrett, Jasper Jinks, Gabrielle Jinks, Aislyn Garrett, Ethan Garrett, and Lanee Garrett. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Vena Garrett, brother Charlie Garrett, and sister Arleta Garrett. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Owasso, Vinita at 209 West Delaware Avenue Vinita, OK 74301 Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Vinita with Pastor Leland Bartlett officiating.
