Luginbuel Funeral Home - Lloyd Vernon Hicks, 83 year old Vinita resident, passed away at his home Friday, January 5, 2018. He was born in Mt. Burg, Arkansas on April 30, 1934 to Raymond and Myrtle (Purdue) Hicks. He attended school in Arkansas and moved the Vinita area in 1946. Spider married Edna Raulston and they had two children together. He enjoyed working gardening, and hatching chickens and guinee's. Lloyd worked at Ford for eighteen years and there he was where he was nicknamed Spider, Conoco for nine years, and was the owner operator of Fish and Hicks in Vinita for over twenty years. He loved raising and caring for the fish in the pet store. On June 10, 1971 Spider married Nancy Johnson. They were members of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Vinita. Spider had many friends and family that he enjoyed spending time with. He will be missed by all who knew him. Preceding Lloyd Hicks in death are his parents, Raymond and Myrtle Hicks and three brothers. He is survived by his wife Nancy of the home, four children, Carol Sue Campbell and husband Russell, of Miami, Oklahoma, Lloyd Vernon Hicks Jr. of Miami, Oklahoma, John Ray Hicks and wife Karen, of Castle Rock, Colorado, Barry Hicks of the home; six siblings; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; many other relatives and a host of friends.
