Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita - 918-256-5555. Lloyd Naaman Lawson, 87 year old Vinita resident, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2016 at the Heartsworth Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on January 26, 1929 in Ketchum to Gordon Otto and Allie Mae (Johnson) Lawson. Lloyd attended school at Wayside, Ketchum, before graduating from Vinita High School. He served his country in the United States Army 45th Infantry as a combat engineer during the Korean Conflict. Lloyd married Christine McDonough on June 28, 1949 in Miami, she preceded him in death on July 15, 2011. He was the manager at the Firestone Store in Vinita for many years, then he worked and retired from Northeast Rural Electric Co-op. After retirement Lloyd and Christine started the Vinita Antique Mall, he had a contracting business, rental homes, sold cars, and had Lloyds DX many years ago. Lloyd was a talented handyman, carpenter, electrician, and plumber. He was also a servant of his community, serving on the Vinita School Board and the Vinita City Council. Lloyd had served as a Boy Scout leader and had been a youth leader at his church. He enjoyed camping, fishing and gardening. Lloyd had been a member of the First Church of God and later the Church of the Nazarene in Vinita. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sibling and his wife. The family includes: his son, Ronnie Lawson of Vinita; a sister, Illa Mae Miller of Bernice, and many cousins and other relatives. A Visitation will be held Sunday at the Luginbuel Chapel 5:00 to 7:00 PM. The funeral will be held on Monday, January 2, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Luginbuel Chapel in Vinita, with Pastor Kyle Youngman officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Vinita.
