Pat (Lloyd D.) Rogers, age 77, long time resident of Disney, Ok, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010 at Pinehurst Health & Rehab Center. He was born near Jay, OK on July 25, 1933 and was preceded in death by wife Shelba Fye Rogers and his parents, "Helen" (Mary Ellen) Newman Rogers Kinney and "Pappy" (Hiram King "Man") Kinney. Pat graduated Jay High School in 1952, and married Shelba in 1955. He was the long time owner of Pistol Pat's Dairy Snack and Rogers' Cabins in Disney, OK, where he was very active in the small community. He joined the South Grand Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and served as both mayor and city council member of Disney. He helped to grow the fledgling volunteer fire department, eventually retiring as a fireman. Pat served on the School Board at Jay Public Schools for two terms, serving a total of ten years. While in Oklahoma, Pat was an active member of the First Assembly of God Church in Disney Pat was active in the Masons, joining the Adair Lodge in 1974, reaching 32nd degree at Tulsa Scottish Rite Temple, receiving honorary title of Knight Commander of the Court of Honor. Pat served as the Chaplain of the Adair Lodge for 27 years, and once as Worshipful Grand Master. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Betty Ann Laxton Williams Rogers, two brothers, Max D. Rogers, of Rapid City, SD., Millard L. Rogers, of Tulsa, OK, and one sister, Glenda R. Weaver, of Muskogee, OK. Survivors also include his six children: Cynthia A. Williams Shannon, of Muskogee; Diane D. Rogers Hartsfield and her husband, Fred, of Rogers, AR; John R. Williams, and his wife, Renate, of Edwards, CA; Pat D. Rogers, and his wife, Regina, of Tulsa; Penny L. Williams Thompson, and her husband, Don, of Aberdeen, NC, Will Rogers, of Grove, OK , Pat and Betty Ann were also blessed with 16 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be Friday, September 10, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Assembly of God Church in Disney with Pastor Daryl Lee officiating with interment to follow at Spavinaw- Strang Cemetery with Masonic Rites. Visitation with family will be Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 at the Church. Arrangements are by the Luginbuel South Grand Lake Funeral Home.
