Lois Crews, born Lois Meta Quick to Hersel Obra "H.O." and Eula Stone Quick in the family home in rural Delaware County on April 1st, 1925, passed into heaven on the 16th day, November 2016 at the age of 91 years, 7 months, and 15 days old. At the age 17 Lois married William "Glenn" Crews in Salina, Oklahoma on July 12th, 1942, and they were married 56 years when Glenn passed away in 1998. She was a hard worker of whom had worked on her parent's farm and in her parent's general store as a young girl growing up. She worked in Piggly Wiggly grocery stores during World War II, in Florida and Utah as those were where the air bases were located where Glenn was stationed during the war. After the war ended they returned to Oklahoma where she worked as a waitress, in a grocery store, and as a clerk in several sale barns before retiring from clerking in 1987. She was a great cook and loved to garden and sew, making many beautiful handmade quilts for her daughters and granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother, Buford Quick. Lois is survived by two daughters, Glenda Crews, Debbie Steinhoff and husband Garry all of Vinita, three granddaughters, Tanya Owens and husband Cole of Adams, Nebraska, Tyrney Steinhoff of Vinita and Taylor Steinhoff of Vinita; two sisters, Barbara Allen of Blocker, Oklahoma and Maxine Brantley and husband John of Kerrville, Texas; and numerous, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, along with great-great-nieces and nephews. Lois was a loving daughter, sister, wife and mother and grandmother that will be greatly missed by all. She fought a long and courageous fight against Alzheimer's these last 14 years. The graveside service will be held on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the Ross-Mayes Cemetery near Salina, Oklahoma with Chaplain Lonnie Sanders officiating.
