Lois Maples

Lois Geraldine (Osburn) Maples, 84 year old resident of Maricopa, Arizona, died Sunday March 13, 2011 at her home. They had formerly lived in Vinita and Borger, Texas. She was born July 19, 1926 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Charles Leonard Howard Osburn and Ruth Hazel (McGee) Osburn. She was raised on the family farm east of Vinita. She attended school in Cleora, Oklahoma graduating Valdictorian. Lois married Allen Maples on August 10, 1947 in Bartlesville by Rev. U. S. Grant in a double ring ceremony. She was devoted to God, her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her brothers and sisters. She lived in Borger, Texas and Vinita for many years prior to moving to Maricopa, Arizona, in 2007. She was a Licensed Vocational Nurse while in Borger. She loved fishing, bowling and golf. She made a hole-in-one at Phillips Country Club in Borger. She was a longtime member of the Assemblies of God. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Eddie Lee Maples, brother Ralph Merle Osburn, brother, William Thomas Osburn, and brother Leland Charles Osburn. Survivors include, her husband Allen Lee Maples of Maricopa, Arizona, a daughter, Allene Maples of Maricopa, Arizona, a son Brad Maples and wife Sharon of Panhandle, Texas, grandchildren, Autumn Muir and husband Scot, Steven Billington, Stefanie Billington, Heather Smith and husband Jackie, and Whitney Rogers and husband Kime, great-grandchildren, Christopher, Maya, Mason, Tucker, and Taylor, sisters, Lucille Tolbert, Loy Brown and Marilyn Horn, one brother, Glenn Osburn and wife Ann, sisters in-law, Betty Osburn, Shirley Osburn and Wanda Althouse, and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2011 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the Family Praise Center with Rev. Jerry Ogdon officiating. Friends may give to the Banner Alzheimer Institute, 901 East Willetta St, Phoenix, Arizona 85006 or a charity of choice.
