ARNOLD MOORE & NEEKAMP FUNERAL HOME, BARTLESVILLE, OK - Loraine L. Hunt, age 91 and longtime resident of Ochelata, Oklahoma passed away on Sunday in the Heritage Villa Nursing Center, Bartlesville. Loraine Ladell Stevens was born on March 15, 1925 in Osage County, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Stephen Edgar Stevens and Faletues V. (Sheets) Stevens. She was a lifelong resident of Washington County, except for a short time in Kansas City, Kansas. Loraine and William L. "Bill" Hunt were united in marriage on October 16, 1947. Five children were born to this union. Bill preceded Loraine in death on January 2, 1998. Loraine died on her 69th wedding anniversary. Loraine was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ramona where she was a volunteer in the nursery for many years. In her later years, she also attended First Baptist Church of Dewey. She was primarily a homemaker, but during World War II, she worked assembling gliders for the U.S. war effort. She also found time for many other things that brought her joy. She played in the Hillbilly Band which was a women's group who entertained at churches, nursing homes and other events. Later, she and her older brother, Glenn, continued playing music. However, the thing that brought her the most joy in life was spending time with her family. Survivors include her children, Reda Rozendal and husband, Roger, of Lockport, New York, Ruth Schultz and her husband, Greg, of Gainesville, Florida, Stephen Hunt and his wife, Dawn, of Skiatook, Oklahoma and Roberta Ford and her husband, Brad, of Ochelata; brothers, Glen Stevens of Bartlesville, Chester Stevens of Tyro, Kansas, Virgle Stevens and his wife, Emma, of Dearing, Kansas and Gerald Stevens of Maysville, Oklahoma; sister, Arline Sturgeon of Wann, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Jenn and her husband, Sandy, Emily and her husband, Frank, Maggie and her husband, Levi, Kurt, ReNae, Dakota, Bart and his wife, Katie, and Brandy; and 11 great-grandchildren, Morgan, Bryce, Ethan, Tyler, Carissa, Emmett, Mira, Maddox, Eleanor, Mallory and Madelyn. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; daughter, Viola Kathleen Hunt; brothers, Robert, Orville, Cecil, Lester, Clifford, Vaughn and Marvin Stevens; and sister, Geraldine Stevens. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, donations in Loraine's name be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
