Lorene Lucille Brown, age 83 and lifelong Vinita resident, died Wednesday, October 19, 2011. Lorene was born in the Vinita area on March 26, 1928 the daughter of Wilburt "Bill" and Aldora (Barnhart) Tune. On October 19, 1948 she was united in marriage to John Brown and together they raised four children. Lorene loved watching sports especially Cardinals Baseball. She was very active within First Baptist Church as well as the community. She was a Cherry Red for over twenty years, a Senior Companion for seventeen years, and a volunteer for the American Red Cross. Survivors include her children Mary Casto of Cleora, Daisy Moorhead and husband Rex of Ketchum, Johnny Brown and wife Kathy of Vinita, and Chris Sallee and husband Bill of Ketchum, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, uncle Harmon Tune of Big Cabin, aunt Eunice Echols of Spavinaw, sister-in-law Margaret Lucas of Webb City, MO, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Bill and Aldora Tune, husband John Brown, and siblings Nadine Echols, Arvagene Humble, Leroy Tune, and Eugene Tune. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Ocotber 23, 2011 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 24, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Vinita with Pastor Skip McClain officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
