Loretta Moss

Grove, OK - Loretta Bell "Rita" Moss, 74, died Sunday, January 21, 2007 at her home in Grove. Rita was born July 26, 1932 at Ada, Oklahoma to John G. Gunter and Eula Bell (Birchfield) Gunter. She grew up in Ada and graduated from Ada High School. Rita lived in several locations during the course of her life, including, Oklahoma City, Texas, Arkansas and Alabama. She married Alfred Leon Moss on September 5, 1992 at Heflin, Alabama. The couple moved to Grove in 1994. Rita was a member of the First Baptist Church, Miami, Oklahoma and had attended Grove Assembly of God. She was a member of the Green Country Squares square-dance club and in her younger days was an avid bowler. She loved to play cards, especially, canasta. Rita was a homemaker and a dog lover and her current pet was a Yorkie Poo that she was very fond of. Survivors are her husband, Leon of the home; a son, Monty Hackler and his wife, Raylene of Grove; a step-daughter, Sherry Butler of Gravette, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Kevin Sheppard & his wife, Rosanna of Miami, Oklahoma, Angela Bothum & her husband, Tim of Allendale, Michigan, Kiamichi Saulter of Grove and Calvin Dale Wiess of Jay, Oklahoma; three step-grandchildren, Robbie, Joshua and Solomon Butler, all of Gravette, Arkansas; six great-grandchildren and a special friend and caregiver, Kathy McCullum of Spavinaw, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents; by a daughter, Barbara Elaine "Bobbie" Sheppard; by a brother, Paul Allen Gunter and a sister, Mozelle Schornick. Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Thursday, January 25, 2007 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, with Rev. Kenneth Duffell officiating. Committal service will be 3:30 p.m., Thursday, at Rosedale Cemetery, Ada, Oklahoma with Rev. Ray Talbott officiating. Services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. Family suggests that friends who wish donate to the Cowskin Women's Auxiliary c/o Grand Savings Bank.
