Luginbuel Funeral Home - Vinita - 918-256-5555 Louis Leon Harp, 92 year old Vinita resident, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2015. Leon was born on January 3, 1923 at Six Mile Bend which is currently where the town of Langley is. His parents were Ezra and Edna (Bogle) Harp. On February 23, 1946 he was united in marriage to Emma Jean Heltzel and together they raised two daughters. Leon started his education at Kinser school house, followed by the Military school house, and lastly graduated from Ketchum High School. For employment Leon worked construction in building the Will Rogers Turnpike. He later worked at the Munsingwear Factory and Eastern State as a psychiatric aide for 22years. His main occupation was farming and ranching which he was involved in up into his last days. In his younger days, Leon enjoyed fishing, hunting small game, and traveling. He enjoyed attending activities at the community he lived in, and most of all spending time with his family. Survivors include his daughters Dorothy Kitchingham of Muskogee and Patricia McTighe and husband Paul of Oklahoma City, granddaughter Keri Spencer and husband Steve of Tahlequah, great grandchildren Kayla and Tess Spencer of Tahlequah, siblings: Carroll Jane Gourd of Tahlequah, Emmett Ray Harp and wife Maxine of Madison, WI, Naomi Yalch of Tulsa, Ezra Curtis Harp of Langley, Mary Haning and husband Ben of Norman, Steve Harp and wife Sharon of Langley, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Leon is preceded in death by his parents, wife Emma, and siblings: Maggie Virginia Boyer, Nancy Harp, and Martha Harp. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., on Friday, March 13, 2015 at the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the Luginbuel Chapel with Skip McClain officiating. Interment will follow at Ketchum Cemetery.
