Louise Carr

June 14, 1932 — January 23, 2016

Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita, 918-256-5555. Margie Louise Carr, 83 year old Vinita resident, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 23, 2016. She was born on June 14, 1932, to Harold Gilbert,"Gib" and Wilma Kathleen (Allen) Wright near Ketchum, Oklahoma. Louise attended the Prairie Chapel School, and then later graduated from Ketchum High School. After high school, she married her first husband, Wilburn Tucker, on June 28, 1952. After her first husband died at a young age, she raised her daughter, LaDonna, with the support of her parents and family. Louise began her working career right out of high school at the Ben Franklin Dime Store in Vinita. For a short time, she worked at J.C. Penney's. She then spent 15 years with Montgomery Ward. During that time she married Bill Carr, on December 16, 1967. It wasn't long before she had twins, Claud and Edith. She took a break from working to take care of her new double workload at home. After several years of rearing her children, Louise began looking for employment outside of the home again. She went to work for Carter's Food Center in the meat department. She began in 1986 and has been there for nearly 30 years. Louise loved working with her bosses and other employees at Carter's. She liked her job and was thankful for her "health and strength" to do the work. Her work philosophy has always been driven by her sense of dependability, responsibility, and service. Her most enjoyable thing about working was to be around people. She strove to make each customer happy in any situation. Louise also loved to be outside. She had two green thumbs and could raise anything. She had multiple gardens, and the house was always full of flowers and plants. She also loved to crochet, and she enjoyed nature. She fed and watched squirrels and birds that visited the yard. She loved her family very much. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were especially precious to her. She would have them in her home as often as she could. They would spend time cooking, baking rolls, and playing outside. Her favorite thing to do was to make everyone's favorite dish. Many evenings and weekends were spent attending her grandchildren's and great grandchildren's extra-curricular activities. Louise is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Carr, of the home; daughter, LaDonna Hawkins and husband Steve, of Vinita; son, Claud Carr and wife, Dodie, of Big Cabin; and daughter Edith Dishman and husband Brad, of Owasso; grandchildren; Dustin Bryson and wife, Cortney, of Stillwater; Haylee Hayes and husband Sloan of Vinita; Madison Dishman, Jobe Carr, and Jubal Carr; great grandchildren, Bralyn Hayes, Allye Jo Hayes, Kegan Bryson, and Kimber Bryson. She is also survived by six siblings: Jim Wright and wife, Irene, of Vinita; Maxine Starks and husband, Howard, of Vinita; Bill Wright and wife, Judy, of Lawton; Joann Panter and husband, Tom, of Miami; Joe Wright and wife, Janice, of Welch; and Phyllis Goins and husband, Jerry, of White Oak. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband Wilburn Tucker; her parents, Wilma and Gib Wright; one nephew, Bart Wright; a grandson, Jess William Carr and a great nephew, Nate Wright. She attended the Family Praise Center. She credits God for giving her the health and strength to accomplish what she has done in her life. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Family Praise Center with Pastor Rick Barrett officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
