Louise (Hardrick) Phillips, 81 year old Vinita resident, died Thursday, Novemeber 29, 2012 at the Craig General Hospital in Vinita. She was born March 2, 1931 in Ketchum to Leeroy and Amanda (Kirkendoll) Hardrick. Louise graduated from Attucks High School in 1949, then attended Wilberforce University in Wilberforce, Ohio. Louise married Wendell T. Phillips on November 28, 1955 at the Courthouse in Vinita, Wendell preceded her in death on April 4, 2011. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, working crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family. She was known to all her nieces and nephews as "Ma". Louise was a member of the United Missionary Church. Louise worked for years at the Cherokee Truck Stop in Big Cabin, as well as a care giver to Nancy Dwyer. The family includes: her children, Theresa Downing, Jarrett Phillips, Donald Phillips, Ricky Phillips, Patti Benson and Michael Phillips all of Vinita; sister, fifteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, five brothers, and three sisters. The funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Friday, December 7, 2012 at the Trinity Baptist Church of Vinita, with Rev. Farris Downing officiating.
