(Emeline) Louise (Tasker) Tweedy Louise Tweedy died Saturday evening, December 10, 2011, at City Hospital in Fayetteville, Arkansas, after a 9-year journey with Alzheimer's disease. Funeral services for Emeline Louise Tweedy, 89, will be held Saturday, December 17, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Tyro, Kansas, with David Bycroft officiating. Burial will be at Fawn Creek Cemetery in Tyro, Kansas. Visitation will be Friday, December 16, 2011 from 5:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. at the Neekamp-Luginbuel Funeral Home. (Emeline) Louise Tweedy was born January 28, 1922, at home on the Tasker farm east of Tyro, Kansas. She attended grade school in Tyro. Louise graduated from Coffeyville High School in 1938 as salutatorian of her high school class. She graduated from Business College in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. She then worked in Wichita, Kansas, for Boeing and also for Phillips Petroleum Company in Bartlesville. During the war she was instrumental in helping the family keep the dairy farm by helping her Dad while her brother was away in the war. On November 14, 1946, she married the love of her life-Lloyd John Tweedy-in Independence, Kansas. They settled on a farm/ranch east of Wann, Oklahoma, and lived there for 45 years. In 1991, due to Lloyd's failing health, the family moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma, to be near relatives and medical facilities. She lived in Bartlesville for 15 years near her daughters and grandchildren. Due to her declining health she moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas, in 2006 to be near her daughters and caregivers. She lived in Arkansas for 6 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Tyro Christian Church for many years. She served as an assistant secretary in the early days of Tyro Christian Church. She was also active as a 4-H leader. Upon moving to Bartlesville she became a member of Town and Country Christian Church. Louise was a talented writer, seamstress, cook, and pianist. Mrs. Tweedy is survived by her daughters: Norma Louise Tweedy, Fayetteville, Arkansas; Juanita Jean (Tweedy) Lamb and son-in-law, Michael Lamb, Fayetteville, Arkansas; grandson, Christopher (Chris) Michael Lamb and his wife Amanda, Rogers, Arkansas; granddaughter, Michelle (Lamb) Kimble and her husband Greg, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mrs. Tweedy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elfa Tasker, husband, Lloyd John Tweedy, and one brother, John Tasker, Jr., in February 2011.
