Lovie Gladys Bean Obituary Vinita, OK - Lovie Gladys Bean, 106, died Saturday morning, April 21, 2007 at the home of her daughter, Juanita, in Cleora, Oklahoma. Lovie was born February 24, 1901 near Ft. Gibson, Indian Territory to John Buffington and Mary (Chase) Buffington. She spent her early years in Ft. Gibson before moving to Vinita, Oklahoma. There, Lovie began school, attending Attucks School. She married Isaac Bean on July 1, 1919 at Okoae, Oklahoma. Isaac preceded her in death November 7, 1974. Lovie was a homemaker, but had worked as custodian for First United Methodist Church of Vinita for 20 years. She was a member of United Missionary Baptist (formerly First Baptist) Church of Vinita. Survivors are two daughters, Opal Allen of Vinita, and Juanita Willis of Cleora; one son, Clarence Bean of Dalton, Georgia; 20 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren and 44 great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Jess Bean on April 25, 1985 and by seven brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, April 28, 2007 at Trinity Baptist Church, Vinita with Rev. Farris Downing officiating. Interment will be in Vinita's Fairview Cemetery, under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home until 9 p.m. each evening.
