Luginbuel Funeral Home - Vinita - 918-256-5555....... Lowell C. Hatcher, 71 year old longtime Vinita resident, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 14, 2014. Lowell was born on July 7, 1943 to Walter and Connie (Mayfield) Hatcher. He grew up on the High Plains of West Texas. Lowell attended school at the New Mexico Military Institute and went to Vinita High School his Senior Year. He graduated from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah with a Master's of Science Degree. He was united in marriage to Linda Lanning on June 4, 1965 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Together they raised two daughters and spent over 20 years on the family ranch. Lowell joined the First National Bank of Vinita in 1988 in the Trust Department. He has served as President of the Grand Lake Cattleman's Association, Director of Chamber of Commerce, Director of Soil Conservation District, member of the Vinita Rotary Club, Adjunct Professor for N.E.O. A&M College, and served on Advisory Board for Business School at Northeastern State University. Lowell took great pleasure in seeing his children and grandchildren grow up. He had one main hobby, and that was fishing. He fished numerous times in Canada, Mexico, and even the Amazon. He enjoyed fishing with his friend O.B. Johnston on the ponds and lakes of Oklahoma for over 30 years. He often said that going fishing early in the morning, was seeing nature and all of God's creations from deer to foxes roaming to prairie chickens in the pastures. Lowell said, "I've had a wonderful life, God blessed me with daughters, grandchildren and great friends." Survivors include his loving wife Linda Hatcher of the home, daughters Stephanie Swain and husband Kip of Jefferson Hills, PA and Lynn Ann Hatcher of Richardson, TX, two grandchildren: Noah Cook and Trevor Cook, and numerous friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Connie Hatcher. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel. Memorial services will be 3 p.m., Friday, October 17, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Vinita with Pastor Skip McClain officiating. Services are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home.
