L. P. Jack Walls age 94 of Grove, OK, died Friday September 10, 2010 in the Via Christi Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. The son of David and Della Walls, Jack was born on April 13, 1916 in Cave Creek, AR. He married Silvia Lewis on March 8, 1939. Jack was preceded in death by his wife Silvia, his parents, two brothers Thurman and Lewis Walls, and one sister Merle Williams. Jack Walls served in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant in World War II, earning a Bronze Star. After serving his country, Jack worked as a welder at Beech Aircraft for 20 years. He retired at Grove, Oklahoma where he lived for 32 years. Jack lived at Lakepoint at Wichita, Kansas the last 2 years. Jack was a member of the First Christian Church in Grove and served as a Deacon. Jack is survived by five children, Naomia Tate and husband David Carl Tate of Jay, OK, Virginia Watkins of Grove, OK, Ella West of Grove, OK, David Walls and wife Susan of Leavenworth, KS and Jack Lee Walls and wife Elaine of Augusta, KS. L.P. (Jack) Walls was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday September 15, 2010 in the First Christian Church with Pastor Wayne Shaw officiating. The interment will be in the Zena Cemetery. The service is under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, OK.
