Mrs. Lowell Ouita Wilson, 77 years old, died Sunday August 30, 2009 at Southcrest Hospital in Tulsa. Memorial services for Mrs. Wilson will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 3, 2009 at the Colonial Chapel of the Neekamp-Luginbuel Funeral Home. She was born in the Red Fork community of Tulsa, Oklahoma on October 19. 1931 to George Ray Jacobs and Lendle Marjoria Farr Jacobs. Subject to her father's occupation as a construction welder and uncertainties of the depression era, Lowell attended schools in Iowa, Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma (at Claremore and Barnsdall), the Panama Canal Zone during World War II and completing the 8th and 9th grades back in Claremore in 1946. Polio in September of 1946 and subsequent 22 months confinement in Tulsa Hillcrest Hospital interrupted further formal education, which she completed through correspondence courses and GED certificate in Bartlesville in 1970, to which she was proud to add courses at Bartlesville Wesleyan College. She was married to James Donald "Don" Wilson July 5, 1948 in Claremore, Oklahoma, making homes in Richmond, California during Don's last two years in the Navy, then Tulsa where he worked for several electrical contractors. They moved to Bartlesville in January of 1956, where Don established his contracting business, evolving into Wilson Electric Supply, for which Lowell became actively involved as bookkeeper in 1965. She enjoyed classes for cooking, sewing and crafts through membership in the Highland Park Home Demonstration Club, serving often as helper for sewing judges at the Washington County Fair. She also served as Cub Scout Den Mother and school activities for Wilson Elementary School. She especially enjoyed singing bass in barbershop choruses with the Sooner Belles, then later Silver Lake chapters of Sweet Adeline's. Survivors include one daughter, Rebecca Ellen Perry and husband Ken of Glenpool; one son, Donald Albert Wilson and Sue Styx of St. Petersburg, Florida: granddaughters Billye Holly Kraus and husband Jason of Jenks; Ashton Perry of Glenpool; Barbara Norris and husband James of Rockledge, Florida; grandson Randy Holly of Glenpool and Great-grandchildren Avery Cox, Jasmine and Brianna Norris, Mia Holly and Corbin Kraus. Also surviving are one sister, Klo Monteen Wright of Kosse, Texas and one brother Melvin E. Jacobs of Claremore. She was pre-deceased by her parents and two sisters: Raye Belle Chambers and Tracy June Wilson of Claremore.
