Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma 918-786-2261. Loy Laverne (Caudill) Derryberry, 93 year-old resident of Grove, Oklahoma, passed away on August 5, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Loy was born on August 21, 1924 in Grove, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Dave and Birchie (Tauuneacie) Caudill. Loy graduated Grove High School in 1942 and furthered her education at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Loy was the first female engineer for Pacific Bell Telephone working then in Orinda, California. Loy moved back to Oklahoma in 1982, she owned and operated Body Shapers of Grove.
Loy was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Paul Dedmon, her brother Junior Caudill and sister Helen Akers. She is survived by her husband Jay Derryberry, her step-son, Dee Derryberry and his family, her cousins: Lewis Tauuneacie and his family, Dan Tauuneacie and his family, Shawnee Rooney and her family, Sallie and Sonny Choate, and numerous members of the Caudill family.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 pm, Thursday, August 9, 2018. Services are scheduled for 10 am, Friday, August 10, 2018 both at Grove-Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Ron Riley and Dan Tauuneacie officiating. Loy will be laid to rest in the Olympus Cemetery. Honoring Loy's life serving as casket bearers will be: Jimmy Caudill, Dan Tauuneacie, Rufus Spruiell, Lewis Tauuneacie, Mark Rooney and Chester Spruiell.
