Luginbuel Funeral Home - Vinita - 918-256-5555 ------ Loyd Reese Redmond was born on October 30, 1947. Loyd was born in Duncan, Oklahoma to Loyd and Billie Redmond. Loyd left in the arms of Jesus and departed this world on September 28, 2014. Loyd's parents both preceded him in death. Loyd had no other known relatives. From the time he was 6 years old he was living his life in institutions for the intellectually challenged. Loyd came to be a part of the family at Home of Hope in 2002; moving into the home known as "New Hope"; living with 15 other people. In 2006 he moved into the new home built on campus of Home of Hope called Wodloe house where he was currently residing with 7 other people. Loyd had a smile that was contagious. He loved spending time outdoors, especially in spring and fall. Loyd enjoyed going on special trips and had just recently attended the Disney on Ice, Ice capades in Tulsa which had brought out that sweet smile of his. He enjoyed drinking coffee, pop and going out to eat. Loyd had a strong determination and was affectionately called "Cowboy" by some of his staff. Loyd is survived by and will be greatly missed by his housemates, friends and staff of Home of Hope whom he considered his family. "The best things in life are the people you love, the places you have seen and the memories you have made along the way". Loyd made the world a better place with just his smile. Celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October, 30, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Wodloe Acres. Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Vinita, Oklahoma.
