Lucian Charles "L. C." Grissom 76 year-old Afton (Gran Tara) resident, died early Sunday morning November 11, 2007 at the St. John Medical Center in Joplin. He was born January 2, 1931 in St. Louis, Oklahoma to Lonzo Holley Grissom and Carrie Belle (Smithson) Grissom. He married Mary Louis Wright on October 9, 1950 in Oklahoma City. L. C. had a home building business for over 50 years "L.C. Homes" in the Oklahoma City area. He moved to the Grand Lake area in 1995 and continued to work in home building and remodeling business with his son Craig. L. C. enjoyed hunting pheasant and quail, taking the kids boating and skiing, wearing his favorite pair of cowboy boots, flying small airplanes, but most of all building custom homes and creating new projects were his favorite thing to do. The family includes; his wife Mary Louise Grissom of the home, three sons, Craig W. Grissom and wife Phyllis of Afton (Gran Tara), Martin Scott Grissom of Palm Beach, Florida, Lyal Curtis Grissom and wife Julie of Norman, two sisters Sibel Cooper of Lake Eufaula, Nina Stromeyer of Pennsylvania, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers, Kurt, Billy, and Burl, two sisters, Joy and Ruth. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, evening at the Luginbuel Funeral Home. The funeral will be held Thursday, November 15, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Mona Shelton officiating.
